Iris the shapeshifter

Iris is of the gift bearers, who are basically humans who found they had substantial additional abilities developing through adolescence. The very nature of the 'gift' drives away their humanity, they become increasingly conceited, eventually coming to think of their peers as little more than exploitable cattle.

While the mantle of gift bearer covers a staggering array of individual abilities, they break down into three classes. Those who can manipulate minds, those who can manipulate the physical world, and those who can shapeshift, often with additional paranormal abilities only available to this second form.

Iris is of the third class, and can change at will. With wings fully formed and extended she can generate a substantial downdraft, but requires her ability of surface repulsion to achieve flight. She uses Iris to feed on humans at night.
